Carbon Engineering creates technology that captures carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to help address today's climate challenges. AKA supported this important work through the design of the Innovation Centre, which provides a dedicated space for scientists, engineers and innovators from around the world to continue advancing this research. The Innovation Centre is a simple industrial building with architectural features that invite curiosity.

During the day, the building exterior is defined by vertical wood slats, a welcoming entry canopy with landscaping, a seating area, and bike racks. The centre operates around the clock, and at night, the building is transformed into a lantern-like beacon, glowing from within through translucent polycarbonate panels. Company logos cut out from the wood slats create a playful presence that continues to activate curiosity throughout the night.
